Central Scotland Holiday Cottages

The different regions of Scotland are largely defined by the nature of the landscape, from the Grampian Mountains in the north to the Southern Uplands, separated by the Central Belt, or lowlands, which cuts across the country. Distinct from the Central Belt is Central Scotland which runs from Stirlingshire in the north to Lanarkshire, which then stretches down to the Borders region. An area rich in history and with beautiful rolling hills and rivers, Central Scotland has many holiday cottages, perfectly placed to allow access to its most popular historic and natural attractions.

Stirlingshire and Lanarkshire both have their historic centres, in Stirling and Lanark, with visitor attractions detailing their respective and important roles in forging the history and identity of Scotland. They are both also set within some stunning natural landscapes which are great to explore using a holiday cottage as a base. In between are some urban centres too, such as Motherwell, East Kilbride and Hamilton, each of which has attractions all of its own, with the added benefit of being within easy reach of the natural beauty and activities of the Clyde Valley.

Holiday cottages are an excellent accommodation choice within Central Scotland because they offer all the freedoms to come and go at will, getting the most from the endless activities, sights and attractions in the area. They also offer all the comforts of home, from lounge and dining spaces to fully equipped kitchens. Smaller cottages are ideal for a couple looking for a short romantic break while families and groups can share the costs and duties associated with the larger cottages.

Usually, all heating, fuel and bedding are included in the price and there is often outdoor patio and seating areas for barbecues or simply enjoying the views. Browse from the selection of Central Scotland holiday cottages presented here to find the best one for your next break or holiday in this beautiful part of Scotland.
